This scarf is woven by the weavers of the Mangtha Project, which the Kala Swaraj Foundation started in 2016 in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh.
Kala Swaraj's support helps the weavers in this area develop a sustainable income, with meaningful work in which they can take pride and which enables them to support their families.
This helps the communities they are part of thrive again, prevents the weaving craft from declining, and provides opportunities in an area with few.
